Exams

• MD Part 1 precedes the training.

• Mid Term Assessment (MTA) occurs after two years of training.

• MD Part 2, or the exit exam, follows the completion of training and successful thesis approval.

MD Part 1

MD Part 1 Medicine and Allied Overview:

Eligibility Criteria:

• Possession of an MBBS degree.

• Completion of a 1-year house job.

Examination Components:

• Written Test.

• Interview.

Examination Sessions:

• March/April session.

• September/October session.

Mid Term Assessment (MTA)

Eligibility Criteria:

• Completion of 2 years of training.

• Approval of the research synopsis.

Examination Components:

• Theoretical Exams:

  • Paper 1: General Medicine.

  • Paper 2: Emergency Medicine.

• Clinical Assessment:

  • Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).

MD Part 2

Eligibility Criteria:

• Completion of all required training and workshops.

• Thesis approval from the Advanced Study and Research Board (ASRB).

Examination Components:

• Theoretical examination.

• Clinical assessments via Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).

• Public defense of the thesis.

Thesis Evaluation:

• Post-ASRB approval, a 6-month window is allocated for thesis finalization.

• The thesis is subjected to evaluation by three external examiners: one internal and two external examiners.

• Upon positive thesis evaluation, candidates are eligible for the final MD examination.
