Overview

Global Fellowship Programme Emergency Medicine (GFP-EM), administered by Health Education England (HEE), aims to advance emergency medicine skills among international doctors. 

Eligibility

  • Experience: 3 years of Emergency Medicine experience

  • English Competency: Valid OET or IELTS score

  • Exams: Passed MRCEM SBA (Part 2)

Application

  • The entire process is typically between 6-8 months.

  • It begins with a review of all necessary documents.

  • Applicants then attend interviews typically scheduled between October and November.

  • Following the interviews, a few hospital placement options are provided to choose from.

  • Applicants must complete a Trac application.

  • Confirmation of sponsorship from the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) is required.

  • Completion of the MTI form is the next step in the process.

  • The only step that incurs a fee is the registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).

  • Finally, applicants must secure a Government Authorised Exchange visa (Temporary Work, Tier 5).
