Overview
Health Authority: NHRA (National Health Regulatory Authority Bahrain) is responsible for licensing and work permits.
License Renewal: Annually, requiring a minimum of 60 CME hours and feedback from the HOD.
Hospitals:
Public Hospitals: Preferred due to free healthcare for Bahraini nationals. Key facilities include BDF Hospital, King Hamad, MKCC, Bahrain Oncology Center, and Salmaniya Hospital.
Private Hospitals: Notable ones are Al Hilal, Dar Al Shifa, and American Mission hospitals.
Jobs
Preparation: Formulate an up-to-date CV.
Applications: Many positions are secured through personal contacts and networks. Typically, once a CV is shared with hospital authorities and the candidate is shortlisted, an email and appointment for an interview will be shared.
Interview:
Format: Online, focusing on personality and clinical skills.
Panel: Includes HOD, HR, and military personnel.
Eligibility: Requires at least 2 years post-fellowship experience with reference letters from current employers.
Credential Verification: After a successful interview, the respective hospital will send emails and links for DataFlow or QuadraBay verifications from Pakistan.
Licensing: The licensing process is initiated after successful interviewing and hiring, with the hospital providing necessary links and guidance for the NHRA license application, eliminating the need for an entrance exam.
Contract: Successful candidates are offered a 2-year initial contract, with the possibility of renewal thereafter.
Visa
Duration: Up to 6 months from the offer letter to licensing.
Probation: 4 months before applying for a family visa.
Benefits: Visa fees and tickets are typically covered by employers.
Work
Flexible Joining: Start dates based on license and registration completion.
Induction: Includes life support courses that contribute to CME hours.
