Supervisors
Emergency Medicine supervisors at PIMS are primarily drawn from General Medicine and ICU, reflecting the interdisciplinary approach in the absence of dedicated emergency specialists within the institution.
The program offers flexibility, allowing residents and supervisors to tailor certain aspects of the training, particularly given Emergency Medicine's relatively recent introduction at PIMS.
With the development of a new trauma and emergency center slated for completion by 2025, the program anticipates an enhanced training infrastructure, potentially incorporating dedicated Emergency Medicine specialists.
Rotations
Residents have significant input in selecting their rotations, typically facilitated through requests to the university registrar, who generally approves these preferences.
Mandatory rotations include General Medicine, Surgery, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Paediatrics, foundational to the comprehensive emergency medicine training.
While there are core required rotations, residents also have the flexibility to pursue additional specialties, allowing for a tailored and broad-based educational experience in line with the collaborative curriculum developed by residents and supervisors.

MD Part 1:
Standard Fee: 16000 rupees.
Late Fee: 20000 rupees.
Double Late Fee: 32000 rupees.
Synopsis Submission:
Fee: 6000 rupees.
Mid Term Assessment (MTA):
Standard Fee: 4000 rupees.
Late Fee: 6000 rupees.
Double Late Fee: 8000 rupees.
Thesis Submission:
Fee: 12000 rupees.
MD Part 2:
Standard Fee: 16000 rupees.
Late Fee: 20000 rupees.

Foundation Program
Emergency Medicine Foundation Program (EMFP):
Annually, the program offers the Emergency Medicine Foundation Program, accredited by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) in the UK.
To date, two batches have successfully completed this foundational course, reinforcing the institution's commitment to global standards in emergency medicine education.
