Tips
No specific topic quota; questions can be repeated in both papers.
Tailor your preparation for MCQs. Dedicate the last week to focused MCQ practice.
Tintinalli textbook is extensive and best used as a reference, not for the exam.
For basics, the manual edition of Tintinalli is sufficient.
Read 1 chapter and solve MCQs from 2-3 different books on the same topic.
Jot down important points from the manual and MCQ explanations.
Re-read tables, especially in toxicology and pediatrics.
Less important sections in Tintinalli: Prehospital care, Disasters management, Resuscitative procedures, Abuse assault, Special situations.
Focus on systemic emergencies, resuscitation, trauma, ACLS/PALS algorithms, important clinical decision scores and guidelines.
After covering theory, review your notes and charts.
Test yourself with practice exams in the '1200 MCQs in EM' book.
Recommended mandatory MCQ books: Tintinalli MCQs, Pretest Emergency Med, Pearls of Wisdom Emergency Med, 1200 MCQs in EM (for self-testing).
Additional recommended books: Peers Review, AliEm, EM MCQs by Waruna, Oxford Assess and Progress: Clinical Medicine.
