Located in Wah Cantt, POF Hospital is a comprehensive facility with 700 beds, offering a wide range of specialties.
The Emergency Medicine training program was initiated in 2017 through the efforts of Dr. Waseem Ud Din (former Principal of Wah Medical College) and Dr. Turab Fatima Abidi. Currently, it is led by distinguished consultants Dr. Huma Hussain, Dr. Tazaeen Hina Kazmi, and junior consultant Dr. Sana Shafique.

The Emergency Department, with 34 beds, is divided into triage, critical and non-critical bays, a cardiac bay, a minor OT, and pediatric sections.
The adjacent Radiology Suite, located next to the Emergency Department, facilitates access to the CT scanner within 2-3 minutes.

The department boasts advanced resuscitation equipment, including crash trolleys equipped with AEDs, pacemakers, standard and portable ventilators, BiPAP machines, POCUS machines, and video laryngoscopes.

Recognized by CPSP for Emergency Medicine FCPS training, the department hosts several trainees at various stages of their residency, from Year 1 to Year 5.
Trainees follow a structured shift pattern, rotating through several departments, including Anesthesia, Intensive Care, General Medicine, and others.
Notable achievements include four trainees passing FCPS Part 2, one achieving FRCEM, and eight succeeding in MRCEM. The training program is supported by comprehensive computerized documentation.

The curriculum emphasizes a clear educational roadmap with well-defined learning objectives.
In addition to daily morning meetings, the program schedules dedicated teaching days each week for case presentations, topic discussions, skill stations, and journal clubs.
Trainees are required to participate in essential courses such as BLS, ACLS, ATLS, and MOCK Osce exams, adhering to both local and international standards.
A dedicated resuscitation policy at POF Hospital ensures that educational endeavours are seamlessly integrated with patient care, maintaining uncompromised quality.
